Rachelle

Homemade sourdough bread is a rustic, artisan-style loaf with a thick, golden-brown crust and a tender, chewy interior. Made using a naturally fermented starter of wild yeast and bacteria, it develops a rich, slightly tangy flavor that deepens over time. The crumb (interior) is open and airy, often with irregular holes that signal a well-fermented dough. When sliced, it has a satisfying crunch on the outside and a soft, moist bite inside. Its aroma is warm and nutty, with subtle sour notes—a result of slow fermentation. Perfect on its own, toasted with butter, or as the foundation for a hearty sandwich.
