    To sustain and maintain the platform, we apply a minimal service fee of 3% for each transaction. This fee covers the cost of the payment service we utilize, ensuring secure and seamless transactions between buyers and sellers.

    We firmly believe that farmers should not be burdened with hefty monthly fees or high transaction costs. Unlike some of our competitors who charge farmers over $100 per month, we aim to empower farmers by offering a cost-effective solution that allows them to thrive in the marketplace.

  • At Locally Grown, all payments are securely managed directly by our processor, Stripe. Your funds are never held by Locally Grown—we simply facilitate the payment process. When a customer makes a purchase, the funds are deposited directly into your bank account. The timing of the deposit depends on the chosen payment method.

     

    For credit card payments, the timing can range from 1 to 5 business days, depending on factors such as the issuing bank, the total amount, and your credit profile. Most funds are typically available within 24-48 hours.

    Debit card payments also take 1 to 5 business days to be deposited, depending on the issuing bank, the total amount, and your credit profile.

     

    ACH (Automated Clearing House) payments usually post within 1 to 3 business days, depending on the funds posting timelines and the issuing bank.

     

    Payments are deposited in batches on a rolling basis. For more detailed information on the topic, you can refer to Stripe's documentation on their payout schedule.

     

    It's important to note that, as part of regulatory requirements to combat fraud and reduce risk, farms may trigger a KYC (know-your-client) audit when they exceed certain dollar thresholds, such as $5,000. During a KYC audit, your identity will be validated. If your farm triggers such an audit, our team at Locally Grown will contact you to provide the necessary documentation, such as an SS-4 Letter with your EIN, for identity verification. Your funds may be temporarily withheld by Stripe until your identity is confirmed.

  • You can use Locally Grown without being a registered business. However, it's important to check the local regulations in your area as requirements may vary.

    In several states, it is possible to engage in food sales of up to $50,000 without a license. However, it's crucial to note that the specific regulations and thresholds differ from state to state. Some states may have different limits or additional requirements, such as specific labeling or food safety guidelines, even for businesses below the threshold.

    Locally Grown aims to support local farmers and businesses of all sizes, including those without a registered business. We believe in fostering a vibrant local food ecosystem, connecting consumers with local producers, and promoting sustainable and transparent food systems.

  • Customers can easily pay for their purchases using a credit card through our streamlined farm checkout process. We strive to make the payment experience as seamless and convenient as possible for both farmers and customers.

    We are continuously working on enhancing the payment options available on Locally Grown. Soon, we will be introducing Apple Pay as an additional payment method. With Apple Pay, customers will have the convenience of making secure and quick payments using their Apple devices.
