Our grandfather Sylvester Clowers start raising cattle back in 1950. He started with 3 registered Polled Herford and move to Black Angus bulls in the late 1960s. He loved developing a better cow, bull and herd of cattle. He spent years working with the University of Tennessee extension agent Bob Sliger and others developing our commercial herd. In 1998 with his passing, we picked up where he left off and continued to work with Bob and the Select Sires team, by artificially breeding our commercial cattle to GAR sires to develop better cows that produced more quality pounds of angus beef. This desire to improve genetic burned within us and perpetuated the development of a Registered Angus herd. Through Bob we met Harvey Lemmon and others who helped us continue the quest for better performance. Today we have developed a solid foundation from Lemmon bred cattle and AI sires that represent a line of genetics that provides the Commercial and Seedstock owners affordable options for low birth weights, strong growth and carcass performance. Our leading sire Lemmon Satisfaction B106 is in the top 5% of the breed in 8 categories including 4 in the top 2%. Our cattle represent a journey to provide superior angus genetics to our customers.
