Nestled in the rolling hills of Connellsville, Pennsylvania, Redick’s Ridge is a small family homestead run by the Redick’s, built around a love for country living, good food, and knowing exactly where that food comes from. What started as a desire to live a little simpler has grown into a hands-on family adventure filled with chickens, gardens, projects, plenty of learning, and more than a few questionable decisions along the way. At the heart of the homestead are our pasture-raised and free-range chickens, cared for with a focus on giving them plenty of space to roam, scratch, forage, and simply act like chickens. The result is fresh, locally produced eggs that travel a much shorter distance from our farm to your table. We believe there is something special about knowing the people who produce your food, understanding how the animals are raised, and supporting a small family operation right in your own community. At Redick’s Ridge, we aren’t trying to be a massive commercial farm. We’re building something intentionally small, personal, and rooted in the idea that quality matters more than quantity. Every carton of eggs represents the daily work that goes into caring for our flock, maintaining the property, improving our setup, and continuing to learn how to do things better. Redick’s Ridge is about more than eggs, though. It is about building a lifestyle centered around family, self-sufficiency, community, and enjoying the process of creating something together. We are learning as we go, sharing both the wins and the mistakes, and slowly turning our little piece of Western Pennsylvania into the kind of homestead we always imagined. Our goal is to provide our neighbors with fresh, high-quality local products while creating a place our children can grow up experiencing where food comes from and what it means to care for animals and the land around them.
