McEnroe Organic Farm exists to demonstrate the strength of climate resilient farming by reducing food waste through composting, providing wholesome, flavorful produce and meats, and educating the community. Originally a dairy farm known as the Ray-Barb Farm, McEnroe Organic Farm was established in 1987 through a partnership by the McEnroe and Durst families. In 2007, the farm became a non-profit organization. Our farm has been NOFA-certified organic for over 25 years, with all of our reciprocal farm ecosystem passing through the compost operation. All organic waste created by crop cultivation, livestock, and the farm is recycled through our state-of-the-art compost facility. McEnroe also composts material from our household food waste drop-off site and a constellation of sources in the Northeast region and New York City. McEnroe Organic Farm is devoted to demonstrating the strength and benefits of our climate resilient farming model. Supporting McEnroe Farm directly supports sustainable farming, food waste reduction, environmental stewardship, and community education.

Our best selling product, Lite Growing Mix, has the characteristics of conventional “soilless” mixes without the addition of chemical fertilizers or wetting agents. OMRI listed, it can be used by organic growers who need a lighter weight mix for germination, seed starting, and container gardening. Developed in response to the needs of organic growers, our Lite Growing Mix begins with compost, peat moss, and horticulture perlite instead of sand. It has the same aeration, drainage, and water retention as our potting soil.

The main ingredient of our Premium Organic Compost is a slow releasing fertilizer and live soil amendment. Our compost adds organic matter and increases the biological activity of soil. Our compost has an excellent tilth and improves soil structure; it also increases the soil’s ability to hold water and nutrients. Our compost is great for turning sandy or clay soils into garden beds and agricultural fields. It can be used as a top dressing for landscaping, lawns, and container plants.

I recommend McEnroes Organic Beef, we always buy our meat from them. The fact that it’s Organic Beef says it all. Also the produce is the freshest around. Definitely beats any grocery store around.

We really enjoyed the cider garden at McEnroe farm. Small menu but everything we had was very good. There farm store is small but it has everything you need. They have a good selection of meat.
